Empowering Workers, Strengthening Community

Founded by day workers in 1996, we connect workers and employers while building dignity, safety, and community.

We bridge the gap between day workers and local employers in a safe, reliable environment. Beyond job matching, we provide essential support and growth opportunities. Beyond job matching, we provide essential daily support including healthy meals and a safe gathering space. We also offer ESL and technology classes to help workers build new skills, alongside workshops focused on worker rights and responsibilities. Our vision is a world of diverse communities where day laborers live with full rights and responsibilities in an environment of mutual respect, peace and harmony.

The Day Worker Center of Mountain View is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. Since 1996, we have remained committed to worker-led advocacy and community service.

Worker centers  – community-based organizations created by and for BIPOC and immigrant job seekers and workers in low-wage industries – provide a comprehensive alternative to the status quo of workforce development through fostering leadership development, movement building, and systemic change.
